For a developer: connect an agent
Point an MCP client at the public endpoint and ask a question. No account is needed.
Is the public MCP endpoint the same as the platform's tenant API?
No. The public endpoint at https://octo.ad/mcp has one tool, ask_octopus, and answers questions about OCTOPUS from public material; it exposes no customer data and no internal graph. Customer knowledge is reached through authenticated, tenant-scoped connections. Those tools are not published here and are shared under early access.
Steps
- For MCP, follow Connect an AI client over MCP. The full steps, with examples.
- For plain HTTP, follow Ask over REST.
- For customer work, ask for early access. Tenant tools are not published: Tenant APIs and tools.
What you have at the end
Your agent can ask about OCTOPUS from public material. The public endpoint exposes no customer data.
